WASHING, DRYING, SHRINKAGE You can wash Bamboosa products
just like cotton - cold or warm water and tumble dry. No bleach or fabric softener. Harsh detergents can cause holes. Remove promptly from the dryer. Because viscose from bamboo fabric is so absorbent, the bamboo products will absorb the moisture from your other clothes and will dry last in the dryer. Shrinkage of our products are similar or less than you would expect in top quality cotton fabrics.
SIZING We have a sizing chart! See it under CHECKLIST: Bamboosa.com/sizingchart For more details, contact us!
DYES We use the lowest impact dyes that are available in the U.S. for production - see: Bamboosa.com/dyedebate Fabric derived from bamboo requires LESS dye than 100% cotton fabric. CATALOG We do not have a hard copy catalog at this time, only the online
catalog of products, but if you'd like a price list with product information, we would be happy to mail or email one to you.
WHOLESALE We can send you our wholesale pricing and guidelines by email or snail mail. See the wholesale page: Bamboosa.com/wholesaleinquiries
YARN, FABRIC We don't sell our yarn or fabric. We have made the decision to
concentrate on our products and have gotten out of the fabric sales end
of the business. However, we do have a source for yarn and fabric that
we can give you if you email us. SCREENPRINTING We do have printing available. It is not traditional screen printing but rather the new technology direct to garment digital printing. It is the most environmentally friendly printing that is available. The ink system is a water based system that is self contained and produces no waste. Unlike traditional screen printing with plastisol inks, there are no screen emulsions, solvents, reclaim chemicals, etc. This process also produces a shirt with a very soft hand, unlike plastisols which are usually somewhat stiff and ‘harsh’. For prices on printing, please email us!
BAMBOO Q. - Where is your bamboo grown? Processed into yarn? A.
- Our bamboo is grown in China - they process the fiber and export it to the U.S. to be spun into yarn. All of our fabric is dyed
& manufactured here in South Carolina. More on the processing here: Fiber Processing
Q.
- I have a huge stand of bamboo in my yard. In the summer it will grow more than a foot
a day! I would love to harvest it and sell it for something worthwhile
like clothing. A. - We wish that we could use bamboo grown
here, but there are no factories or facilities in the USA process bamboo into fiber.
Q. - What species of bamboo is being used for your products? Where is it grown and obtained from? A.
- The species of bamboo our yarn comes from is Phyllostachys Pubescens
- Moso. Moso bamboo covers about 7.41 million acres in China. It is grown on family-run farms.
Q. - I am considering growing some bamboo. Is there a market for it? A.
- Visit our Bamboo Growers page for plenty of people to give you advice. There is
a huge and growing attention to bamboo products all over the U.S. -
bamboo clothes, bamboo floors, cutting boards, cookware, snowboards and
skateboards, bikes and the list goes on.
Q. - Do pandas eat the Moso bamboo? A. - Giant pandas and red pandas eat over 30 species of bamboo. Moso is NOT one of them. Moso is the largest temperate bamboo species and is too big for either panda to eat. For more PANDA info - see our BambooBaby Panda page.
